1. Program Screen Layout
A program is created in KAI Lab by moving and arranging the icons from the left screen to the programming area on the right.

The location within the programming area is indicated by the coordinate (column, row). For example, (3,1) denotes column3, row1.

The maximum size of the KAI Lab programming area is 100 columns and 10 rows with 1,000 icons.

2. Start & End of Program
A KAI Lab program must begin with a ¡°Start¡± icon. Although it is not mandatory, the ¡°Start¡± icon is usually placed at (1,1) to consider arrangement of other icons.

All programs, with the exception of those that perform the same tasks repeatedly, must terminate with an ¡°End¡± icon. Double-clicking the ¡°Start¡± icon, causes an arrow to automatically connects to the coordinate below.

A program created simply with ¡°Start¡± and ¡°End¡± icons can be compiled by selecting ¡°Compile¡± from the menu or clicking the ¡°Compile¡± button.

¡¡

3. Program Rule Check, Create, Compile, Download
KAI Lab allows simple programming by the use of icons. Programs created with icons must go through Rule Check, creation and compilation to be converted into machine language before being downloaded into KRC.

Clicking the button in the toolbar, performs the rule check, create and compile procedures in a single run. All programs must go through the ¡°compile¡± procedure before downloading to KRC. Otherwise, KRC will only execute previously stored programs.

If ¡°compile¡± is successful, connect the download cable from the PC serial port to KRC (the flat surface of the download cable must face up, and you should not pull on the cable when connecting or disconnecting it) and power on KRC. Click the ¡°Download¡± button on the toolbar to display the configuration window and then click the ¡°Download¡± button again.

When downloading a program, verify the Program Stop status in the KRC LCD window and do not click any button during the downloading process.
